I had a pleasure to collaborate with Lena for one year and a half, and watched her quickly rise from individual contributor to trusted leader, managing projects that resulted in design and development of mobile and desktop applications as well as e-commerce platform and website. Lena distinguished herself as a subject matter expert and a leader among her colleagues. Behind Lena’s energetic, creative demeanor is a dedicated, sharp professional with a keen eye for what’s most important for improving customers’ experiences.
Being able to quickly acquire complex domain knowledge, understand and work very effectively with all types of users, co-workers, and management at all levels, she led the most important project for the company, an innovative combination of software and hardware as well as orchestrate a team of 5 designers within an agile environment. As a person who values continuous development, she expanded her competencies and became a Scrum Master to support the client and set up priorities for the team. Under time pressure, she was always ready to jump in and help colleagues and the client, displaying true dedication and dependability.
Because of Lena’s outstanding work ethic, teamwork, coaching, and communication skills, she assisted the client through their digital transformation. She was laying the foundation of a company-wide design system using Figma and Storybook as well as initiating continuous stream of research and testing activities rising UX and Design maturity. Lena has a unique ability to see the big picture of a problem at hand and offer solutions that bring long-term value. She was able to craft design strategy for the UX design operations in correlation with the setup of the client. Including preparations for agile scaling/team split.
Navigating different design streams in the project such as UX, UI, Research, and Implementation support she never lost sight of maintaining the quality of her deliverables. I was truly impressed with Lena’s system thinking and being able to to create tangible designs from scratch based on complex technical requirements. With eloquent diplomacy she prepared and performed many internal and client workshops to bring stakeholders together and promote user-centered design process.
